About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Confidential Data Governance Specialist to join our team at PACC-CCAP - Privacy and Access Council of Canada. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will play a key role in implementing and managing cross-functional privacy projects/programs.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for operationalizing and facilitating our privacy management program, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations. You will design, develop, and implement privacy compliance programs, educate internal stakeholders on awareness of privacy trends, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on programs and projects involving the handling and sharing of information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designs, develops, and implements privacy compliance programs to ensure organizational compliance with provincial laws regarding privacy, freedom of information, security, electronic transactions, and protection of information assets.
  • Educates internal stakeholders on awareness of privacy trends and changes in technology use and privacy legislation that impact BCCNM.
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders on programs and projects which may involve the handling and sharing of information across BCCNM and with other organizations, users, clients, suppliers, and partners to ensure the protection of personal information of registrants and staff.
  • Ensures clarity on what the College sees as FOI requests, and designs college-wide processes and training so that FOI requests are centrally tracked and responded to as expected.
Requirements
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in a privacy and access to information role, including successful implementation and management of all aspects of cross-functional privacy projects/programs.
  • Certification as an Information Privacy Professional (CIPM, CIPP/C or CIPT) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of BC's Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and Health Professions Act.
  • Experience completing PIAs and developing related processes.
  • Understanding of common privacy industry standards and regulations and experience with industry frameworks.

This position offers a salary of $93,032 - $97,391 per annum, based on experience.
