Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Confidentiality Coordinator to join our team at Providence Health Care.

About the Role

The Confidentiality Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of patient information, while providing excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Retrieve and review medical records to determine information to release
  • Process requests for patient information, including responding to internal and external inquiries
  • Maintain accurate records of released information using a computerized system
  • Perform record processing functions related to records, including identifying, verifying, and correcting patient information
  • Retrieves health records according to established policies and procedures
  • Ensures patient/client signs the Release of Authorization Form prior to retrieving information
  • Performs clerical and reception duties, including answering telephone calls and directing visitors
  • Assists in updating procedure manuals and makes recommendations for efficiency improvements
  • Participates in the department's Continuous Quality Improvement Program

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A grade 12 education, with courses related to release of information, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two years of recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and training
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to operate related equipment, including computers and photocopiers
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
  • Ability to keyboard at 40 words per minute

Working Conditions

This role is 100% onsite and will work at various locations within Providence Health Care.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
