About the Opportunity:

This role is an integral part of our team, responsible for managing the administration of realized planned gifts made to BC Cancer Foundation. You will work closely with estate-related stakeholders, including Gift Planning Advisors (GPAs) and donor families in the planning phases of making future gifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the associated processes for gifts made through estates, trusts, registered accounts, annuities, and life insurance policies, including budgeting and regular reporting.
  • Develop and steward relationships between legacy giving/estate-related stakeholders and the BC Cancer Foundation to increase future planned giving opportunities.
  • Proactively engage with the GPA community to build awareness and support enquiries from donors and advisors regarding technical assistance around gift planning.

The Qualifications:

  • A degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution, combined with 5-7 years of experience as a trust officer/administrator or estate administrator for a charity, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Canadian tax system, estate planning, and various gifting vehicles.

Core Knowledge & Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of gift administration, including tax implications and various gifting vehicles.
  • Able to develop and maintain professional relationships that drive outcomes.
  • Familiarity with financial management, including budgeting, reporting, and monitoring.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work on multiple complex projects with tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in fundraising software programs and Microsoft Office suite.

Compensation: $65,000-$87,500 per year
