About the Role

The Director, Advancement + Alumni Relations is a key figure in our fundraising strategy, leading the development of a comprehensive fund development plan that addresses short- and long-term philanthropic goals. This role requires a self-driven individual with excellent organizational skills, able to manage a portfolio of major gift donors, initiate and cultivate relationships, and close major gifts exceeding $10,000.

Responsibilities
  1. Fundraising Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive annual plan for individual major gifts, planned giving, and annual fundraising activities, ensuring alignment with the University's strategic objectives.
  2. Donor Relationship Management: Manage and grow a portfolio of major gift donors, providing exceptional stewardship and recognition opportunities to foster strong relationships.
  3. Team Leadership: Provide strategic direction and oversight to the development team, ensuring efficient policies, procedures, and tracking mechanisms are in place to accurately monitor fundraising initiatives.
  4. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the Executive Director, Communications team, and Foundation Board to develop communication plans, including social media strategies, and represent the University in external activities that support partnerships.
  5. Talent Management: Supervise administrative-related activities, including Raiser's Edge database administration, stewardship activities, and reporting, while fostering a culture of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI).
Requirements
  • Master's Degree: A relevant field is required.
  • Experience: Minimum five years' experience in fundraising at a management level, with knowledge of endowments and community foundations.
  • Technical Skills: Working knowledge of Raiser's Edge, iWave, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Additional Qualifications: Post-secondary experience is an asset.
Compensation

Grade 13 ($101,172 to $134,896 per annum)
