Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Disaster Relief Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) program, you will play a vital role in providing assistance and support to our EDS Specialists and the Divisional Director of EDS.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the provision of 24-hour emergency disaster services for the catchment area as situations dictate.
  • Organize and deliver training courses within the catchment area.
  • Ensure clients receive pastoral care, emotional & spiritual support and referrals as needed.
  • Provide assistance with respect to clients' immediate material needs, i.e., food, water, and clothing.
  • Maintain and keep in a state of readiness all vehicles and equipment assigned to the Emergency Disaster Services program.
Organizational Responsibilities:
  • Develop an understanding of The Salvation Army's mission and its implications as related to position responsibilities.
  • Maintain information in confidence as required.
  • Participate as an active and responsible team member.
  • Represent the organization in a professional and engaging manner.
Accounting and Administration:
  • Assist with processing invoices, receipts, and vehicle monthly charges in our financial management system.
  • Assist with maintaining current fixed asset inventory, supply inventory, and orders.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's Licence would be an asset.
  • Criminal Background Check that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required.
  • One year of prior related experience, including experience dealing with office equipment and tools, would be an asset.

Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per annum based on qualifications and experience. This is a temporary, full-time contract for an 8-week period.
