Avantis Marine North America Inc. is seeking an experienced Shipbuilding Fabricator to join their team.

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious individual to work on various marine projects, including ship repair and construction. The ideal candidate will have experience with welding and fabricating metal parts using different techniques and equipment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting welding process specifications, operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, and examining welds to ensure they meet standards and specifications.

Additionally, the candidate will operate flame-cutting equipment, set up welding machines, and fabricate or repair metal parts and products.

This role requires strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.

Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in welding and fabrication
  • Knowledge of welding techniques, such as shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG), and gas metal arc welding (GMAW)
  • Familiarity with flux core arc welding (FCAW) and other specialized welding processes
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing, lifting, and working in confined spaces
