Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Registration Coordinator to join our team at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

About Us

Shared Health leads the planning and coordination of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. Our organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for effectively and efficiently placing and/or slating patients. This includes ensuring protocols for deceased patients are followed according to the associated Acts of Manitoba. Additionally, the incumbent will collect personal and financial data required for admission, maintaining exceptional communication skills, customer service, professionalism, and accuracy.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have two years' experience in an Admissions Office. Experience using electronic patient record systems such as Admission, Discharge, Transfer (ADT) and Ambulatory Care Scheduling Systems is preferred.

You should have completed high school education or equivalent program and successfully completed a recognized Medical Administrative Assistant Program. A combination of education and experience may also be considered.

A Typing/keyboarding skill of 40 wpm and medical terminology (Health Sciences Centre (HSC) test pass mark 75%) are required. Knowledge of computer software (Windows) and applications (Microsoft office) is also necessary. Excellent command of English (oral and written) and superior interpersonal communication skills are essential.

We prefer candidates competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions, and values. The successful candidate must meet deadlines, problem-solve, and exercise judgment for decision-making within the scope of the job description and team mandate.
