Job Title: Family Information Liaison Coordinator

The Government of Northwest Territories is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Information Liaison Coordinator to join our team in the Northwest Territories.

About the Role:

The Coordinator will work closely with families of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls and men and boys to provide support and guidance in finding information about their loved ones. This role requires strong case management and research skills, as well as the ability to build trust and rapport with clients and partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide trauma-informed and culturally-appropriate support to clients
  • Liaise with service providers and develop relationships to achieve client goals
  • Research and gather information on policies, directives, and legislation
  • Engage partners and work towards consensus on responsibilities and deliverables
  • Assess situations and escalate individual and systemic issues as required

Requirements:

  • University degree in social work, criminology, social sciences, or related discipline
  • At least one year of relevant case management and/or research experience
  • Training in conflict resolution, trauma-informed service provision, and culturally-appropriate approach
