About the Opportunity

The Rehabilitation Assistant plays a vital role in the patient care team, working collaboratively with individuals, care partners, and groups to promote movement, occupation, and function. This role involves the safe and proficient delivery of activities, interventions, and education assigned by therapists for patients/clients experiencing limitations in movement and daily function.

The successful applicant will be responsible for checking and cleaning equipment, maintaining treatment and storage areas, and ordering necessary supplies. They may also be required to provide services anywhere within the Rehabilitation Services portfolio.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual with the following qualifications:

  • Graduation from a recognized Community College Rehabilitation Assistant program or Completion of a recognized combined Occupational Therapy (OTA) and Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) College program.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) training or requirement to complete training within the first three months of employment.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Previous experience working in a rehabilitation centre is an asset.
  • Previous experience working with Geriatric populations is an asset.
  • Previous experience working with Frailty and Dementia is an asset.
  • Previous experience working with patients/clients with physical and/or cognitive impairments is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology is an asset.
  • Experience working with varied patient populations is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of proper body mechanics is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to complete assigned work.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members, patients, and their care partners.
  • Competencies in other languages are considered an asset, French preferred.
Hours
  • Long Assignment, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly.
  • Approximately a 12-month assignment.
  • Shifts include weekdays, scheduled weekends, and holidays.
Compensation and Benefits

$22.84 - $25.95 Hourly.
