About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Physiotherapy Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our patient care team, you will work collaboratively with physiotherapists and occupational therapists to provide safe and proficient delivery of activities, interventions, and education to patients experiencing limitations in movement and daily function.

Responsibilities include checking and cleaning equipment, maintaining treatment and storage areas, and ordering necessary supplies. The successful candidate may be required to provide services anywhere within the Rehabilitation Services portfolio.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a recognized Community College Rehabilitation Assistant program or a combined Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Assistant College program. Basic Cardiac Life Support training is required, and knowledge of medical terminology is an asset. Experience working with varied patient populations is also considered an asset.

Key skills include excellent organizational skills, the ability to complete assigned work, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Previous experience working with geriatric populations, frailty, and dementia is an asset. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are also considered an asset.

Hours

This is a permanent, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. Shifts include weekdays, scheduled weekends, and holidays.

Compensation and Incentives

The hourly rate for this position is $22.84 - $25.95. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
