Job Summary

Castleton Commodities International LLC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Natural Gas Trading Analyst. As a key member of our trading desk, you will be responsible for developing in-depth knowledge of the natural gas market and performing market research and analysis to support trading activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Market Analysis: Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the natural gas market, including market trends, supply and demand dynamics, and price relationships.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify opportunities and risks, and provide recommendations to the trading desk.
  • Model Development: Design and develop advanced statistical models to analyze market valuations and track performance of supply/demand models and trading strategies.
  • Reporting and Communication: Effectively communicate research findings and analysis to the trading desk, exploring price and fundamentals relationships.
  • Data Visualization: Design and develop data visualizations to support efficient and detailed analysis.
  • Tool Management: Manage the desk's web-based analytical tools and ensure they are up-to-date and functioning properly.
  • Strategic Contributions: Contribute to the design, development, and continuous improvement of fundamental supply and demand models, and integrate new models within the desk's existing computer modeling infrastructure.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the team to monetize research and identify market opportunities.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistical Modeling, Applied Math, Economics, Physics, or related field.
  • Skills: Excellent computer programming skills, including proficiency in Python and experience with creating visualization tools and web development.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of probability, statistics, and microeconomics, as well as a passion for and understanding of financial markets and modeling.
  • Personal Qualities: Motivated self-starter, independent thinker, and excellent communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
