About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Commodity Sales and Trading Analyst to join our team at National Bank. As a key member of our Commodity Derivatives team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining models and tools to support our Commodity Sales and Trading team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain complex models and tools to support commodity sales and trading initiatives
  • Collaborate with the Commodity Sales and Trading team to analyze market trends and develop business opportunities
  • Assist in the creation of rich visualizations, presentations, and pitch books with reporting components from multiple data sources
  • Compile and evaluate general industry information and research, forming market views and opinions and sharing with the team, clients, and stakeholders
  • Assist the Commodity Sales and Trading team with ad-hoc projects and analytical assignments as required
Requirements
  • Completed a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics, with progression towards completion of a CFA or CPA
  • 1-3 years of relevant oil and gas industry experience with a focus on finance/economics/mathematics/modelling
  • Strong computer skills, including Python, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI, and Bloomberg, in addition to sourcing and scraping data from various sources for modeling purposes
  • Experience with databases and data analysis in Python with an aptitude for learning other analytics tools
  • Comfortable presenting with the ability to communicate complex and highly detailed information in a concise manner to various internal and external audiences
