About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our Commodity Derivatives team at National Bank. Key Responsibilities

  • Model Development: Research, develop, and work with traders to implement models and analytical tools to support trading and risk management activities.
  • Hedging Strategies: Develop, test, and implement hedging strategies using commodity derivatives, working collectively with other departments to ensure accurate reporting and data flow.
About the Team

You will be part of a team of National Bank colleagues, reporting to the Head of Trading. This highly technical individual will have the opportunity to gain invaluable experience and immediately add value by working directly with developers and traders, focused on adapting technology to help manage trading portfolios and develop new business opportunities.

Requirements
  • Education: Successfully completed bachelor's/master's in software engineering, computer science, data sciences, mathematics, or a relevant field.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of relevant development experience with highly technical requirements, including experience with Python, Pandas, Numpy, JavaScript, C++, and database architecture.
  • Skills: Exceptional numerical, analytical, and investigative aptitude, with experience working with large data sets, data analysis, and machine learning.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of economics/finance, including financial derivatives products, risk metrics, and database architecture.
