Job Summary

The Operations Support Coordinator - Logistics Specialist will play a crucial role in handling day-to-day operational elements of our customers' needs. This position requires flexibility, adaptability, and a high degree of independence to work extended hours and meet work demands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work independently to accomplish tasks within the scope of the job.
  • Effectively and efficiently respond to internal stakeholders' inquiries, resolve conflicts or problems, and maintain up-to-date account correspondence.
  • Prepare and present quotes to internal and external clients, maintain quotes in the system, and update milestones in real-time.
  • Optimize DSV profit margin without compromising service.
  • Monitor carriers who are unresponsive and inform dispatchers and supervisors of escalated issues.
  • Update transportation management systems and customer websites with real-time load locations.
  • Identify problems proactively and develop creative and efficient solutions.
  • Prioritize loads based on importance and delivery date.
  • Communicate any modifications to Account Managers to update clients.
  • Build strong relationships with assigned carriers through communication and ongoing monitoring of on-time performance.
  • Complete performance reports for all carrier-related issues in a timely manner and notify potential issues to the appropriate parties.
  • Negotiate additional charges with carriers and maintain the accuracy of carrier information.
  • Ensure tracking meets established standards and escalate for resolution as necessary.
  • Communicate any carrier issues that might impact operations.
  • Working knowledge of transportation cargo claims, transportation laws, and risk management.
  • Keep the Operations Team and Account Manager updated on significant issues.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of client information and the integrity of shared work files on network systems.
  • Meet KPI standards as per company guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or distribution.
  • College Diploma or University Degree in Business, Logistics, or International Trade (preferable).
  • CIFFA certificate or Dangerous Goods Certification (an asset).

Language and Computer Skills
  • English is the principal language for this position, with additional languages required in other locations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment.
  • Microsoft Office suite.
  • Working knowledge of transportation management software (i.e., Load Link, PC Miler, etc.) (an asset).
