Job Description

Job Summary

The Operations Support Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our customers' needs. This position requires flexibility, adaptability, and a strong ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operational elements, including customer communication and freight updates.
  • Respond to internal stakeholders' inquiries, resolve conflicts, and maintain accurate account correspondence.
  • Prepare and present quotes to internal and external clients, maintaining quotes in the system.
  • Monitor carriers' performance, identify problems, and develop creative solutions.
  • Prioritize loads based on importance and delivery dates, communicate modifications to account managers, and build strong relationships with carriers.
  • Complete performance reports, notify potential issues, and negotiate additional charges with carriers.
  • Ensure tracking meets established standards, communicate carrier issues, and maintain confidentiality of client information.
  • Meet KPI standards and perform other duties as required.

  • Support organizational commitment to ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 certification.
  • Perform tasks to support DSV's objectives and targets regarding quality, health, safety, and environment.
  • Embody sustainability, health, and safety in day-to-day activities, reducing the impact on the environment and supporting the communities DSV works in.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or distribution.
  • College diploma or university degree in business, logistics, or international trade (preferable).
  • CIFFA certificate or Dangerous Goods Certification (an asset).

  • Good command of English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to create collaborative engagements and active listening.
  • Service-oriented and able to resolve customer grievances.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, building professional relationships internally and externally.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, plan, prioritize, and manage time effectively to meet goals and achieve results.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Language and Computer Skills

  • English is the principal language for this position, with additional languages required in other locations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment.
  • Microsoft Office suite.
  • Working knowledge of transportation management software (i.e., Load Link, PC Miler, etc.).

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and standing at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Regular working hours apply, with occasional working beyond these hours required by business needs.
