Business Development Broker

We are seeking a skilled Business Development Broker to join our expanding General Industries team in Toronto. With a strong focus on client relationships and business growth, this role is ideal for a motivated professional with a passion for insurance brokering.
About the RoleThis opportunity offers a challenging and rewarding experience as you work closely with clients to understand their insurance needs and develop tailored solutions. As a Business Development Broker, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Small Business Entreprise (SME) accounts, providing exceptional client service, and supporting our International Team.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a high volume of SME and International accounts, delivering exceptional client service and ensuring timely renewals.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to understand clients' operations and develop effective insurance strategies.
- Prepare renewal files, including loss runs and required documents, and draft key insurance documents such as Broker of Record letters and underwriting submissions.
- Assist with client proposals, reports, analysis, and presentations, and ensure compliance with company workflows and records.
- Manage market placements, respond to client coverage questions, and process policy amendments and cancellations.
- Oversee day-to-day account management, liaising with internal teams and clients, and review insurance contract terms and indemnity provisions.
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- 2-5 years of experience in insurance brokering or underwriting.
- A valid Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO) license.
- A commitment to outstanding client service and a proven ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Experience with broker management systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and communication skills, and a collaborative approach.
