Quality and Patient Safety Director

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Improvement and Safety Leader to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. This is a permanent, full-time position with a 75-hour bi-weekly schedule.
The successful candidate will provide leadership and expertise in quality improvement, patient safety, and accreditation. They will be responsible for implementing comprehensive quality improvement and patient safety plans, as well as providing guidance and support to leaders, staff, and physicians.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality improvement, patient safety, and healthcare leadership. They will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
The Quality Improvement and Safety Leader will be responsible for:
- Leading investigations of patient safety incidents
- Facilitating quality reviews and trending analysis
- Leading and/or providing improvement coaching for quality improvement initiatives
- Supporting accreditation activities
- Providing education and training related to QIS priorities, policies, and procedures
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare quality improvement and patient safety principles, as well as experience working in a healthcare environment. They will be able to critically review health records and provide expert advice on quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
