About the Role

The Director of Strategic Planning will play a key role in shaping the future of IWK Health by leading the development and implementation of the organization's annual strategic plan. This individual will work closely with the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board of Directors to create a culture of accountability and transparency, driving the organization towards its strategic objectives.

The Director will oversee the management and delivery of approved business cases and provincial transformation initiatives, as well as lead the development and implementation of the organization's continuous improvement program. This includes leading and facilitating priority LEAN improvement projects and overseeing the organization's enterprise risk management framework.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's Level Degree in a health-related discipline, health administration, or related subjects, and registration with a relevant health or professional discipline/college or association. They will have 5-8 years of experience in a relevant field, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role. The Director will be an expert in strategic planning, systems thinking, and quality improvement methodologies, with excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.

The Director will lead a skilled team of managers, consultants, and analysts, providing vision and leadership to deliver assigned projects and initiatives. They will work closely with the Director, Quality, Patient Safety & Patient Experience, and the Director, Health Information Services, to promote a culture of safety and identify opportunities for improvement.
