Payroll and Benefits Coordinator

Job Summary
The Payroll and Benefits Administrator is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of Payroll and Benefits following Employment Standards and Kal Tire policy, providing exceptional customer service to Kal Tire locations, external, and internal customers.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll:
- Process bi-weekly payroll and off-cycles within a 2-week period, including computing and deducting statutory deductions, entering bonus and commission payments, and setting up additional pays and deductions.
- Process retroactive payments, earnings, and deductions, as well as ROE's and vacation pay outs.
- Provide payroll for Kal Tire associate locations and process job changes and transfers.
- Follow Union Contracts and process union dues, initiation fees, and housing allowance.
- Reprocess stale dated cheques and provide reporting to Kal Tire locations, internal departments, and external organizations.
Benefits:
- Perform routine benefit and payroll audits.
- Monitor probationary benefit periods and enroll, update, and terminate team member benefits on MSP, PBC, and PeopleSoft as appropriate.
Administration:
- Process recruitment bounties.
- Create and maintain team member files, following up with locations regarding required paperwork.
- Process profit share bonuses, RRSP contributions, and refunds as required.
Requirements
Minimum 4 years' payroll and benefits experience, with a high level of attention to detail and a good working knowledge of Excel. Experience with full-feature payroll software, such as PeopleSoft, is an advantage. PCP certification or willingness to obtain is also required.
