About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at Peter's Family Restaurant. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Preparation: Plan and prepare menus, estimate food requirements, and requisition supplies to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  • Cooking and Food Preparation: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, taking into account customer dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, providing guidance and training to ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records of food, supplies, and equipment, ensuring that stock levels are adequate and that waste is minimized.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Skills: Excellent cooking skills, attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and strong leadership and communication skills.
