Peter's Family Restaurant is seeking a skilled and experienced Culinary Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods, as well as training staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a focus on international cuisine. You will be responsible for planning menus and estimating food requirements, as well as requisitioning food and kitchen supplies. Additionally, you will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff and helpers, and maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
  • Plan menus and estimate food requirements
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and repetitive tasks
