Job Summary

At EXP, we're seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering geotechnical projects from design to construction. Your expertise will be essential in conducting site investigations, analyzing geotechnical data, and preparing reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct geotechnical site investigations and collect relevant data
  • Analyze geotechnical data and prepare reports
  • Collaborate with project engineers and managers to deliver geotechnical projects
  • Prepare proposal and scopes and budgets for geotechnical projects
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and subconsultants as needed
  • Act as Engineer of Record (EoR) and engineer support on project assignments
  • Support project construction meetings and technical inquiries
  • Conduct field reviews to support EoR quality assurance work
  • Prepare design memos/letters and Field Review Reports during construction

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or geological/geotechnical engineering
  • Registration as professional engineer with PEO
  • 5 to 9 years of relevant experience, preferably with Greater Toronto Areas soils
  • Some project management experience
  • Strong technical skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail and accuracy
  • Team player with proven ability to work independently or as a member of project teams
  • Excellent organizing, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills using word processing, spreadsheet, and graphics applications such as MS Word, Excel and AutoCAD
  • Experience in engineering programs (gINT, SlopeW are assets)
  • Must possess valid driver's license and owns a vehicle for use to travel to and from client office and project construction sites
