About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at EXP. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of geotechnical projects, working closely with our team of engineers, architects, and designers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct geotechnical site investigations and analysis to inform project design and development
  • Prepare proposal and scopes and budgets for geotechnical projects
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and subconsultants to execute assigned projects
  • Assist in the preparation of geotechnical reports and design submissions
  • Act as Engineer of Record (EoR) and engineer support on project assignments
  • Support project construction meetings and technical inquiries during construction work
  • Conduct field reviews to support EoR quality assurance work
  • Prepare design memos/letters and/or prepare/review Field Review Reports during construction
  • Prepare Letters of Compliance documents to Building Authority, as required
  • Prepare/support close out documents, as required
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or geological/geotechnical engineering
  • Registration as professional engineer with PEO
  • 5 to 9 years of relevant experience, preferably with Greater Toronto Areas soils
  • Some project management experience
  • Strong technical skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail and accuracy
  • Team player with proven ability to work independently or as a member of project teams
  • Excellent organizing, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills using word processing, spreadsheet, and graphics applications such as MS Word, Excel and AutoCAD
  • Experience in engineering programs (gINT, SlopeW are assets)
  • Must possess valid driver's license and owns a vehicle for use to travel to and from client office and project construction sites
