Geotechnical Engineering Specialist

Role Overview
As a Geotechnical Engineering Specialist, you will be integrated into our Geotechnical team located in our Brampton office. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to local geotechnical projects while collaborating with EXP colleagues across the Greater Toronto Area on significant and complex initiatives.
Daily Responsibilities
In this role, you will work closely with Project Engineers/Managers, design support personnel, field technical staff, and materials testing teams on various projects. Your responsibilities may include:
- Preparing project design phase deliverables, including proposals, scopes, and budgets.
- Coordinating with subcontractors and EXP design and field staff to execute assigned projects.
- Conducting geotechnical site investigations and analyses.
- Assisting Senior Engineers in the preparation of geotechnical reports.
- Acting as Engineer of Record (EoR) and providing engineering support on project assignments.
- Supporting project construction phase deliverables, including design submissions and coordination of technical and field support staff.
- Conducting field reviews to ensure quality assurance during construction.
- Preparing necessary compliance documents and close-out materials.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil or geological/geotechnical engineering.
- Professional Engineer registration with PEO.
- 5 to 9 years of relevant experience, ideally with soils in the Greater Toronto Area.
- Some experience in project management.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and graphics applications such as MS Word, Excel, and AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with engineering software (gINT, SlopeW is advantageous).
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for travel to client offices and project sites.
