Compensation: $22.85 per hour + full benefits + RRSP from Day 1

Job Description:

As a Gasket Manufacturing Specialist at Hamilton Kent Inc., you will be responsible for producing high-quality gaskets using heated moulds. This involves splicing pre-cut rubber strips, ensuring accurate cuts and clean ends, loading tape rolls into machines, and visually inspecting gaskets for defects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe and clean working area before starting work
  • Ensure mould temperature reaches its setting prior to splicing
  • Prepare rubber strips for splicing by dipping, sanding, heating, or cleaning as required
  • Verify rubber strip quality before splicing
  • Loading tape roll into machine and checking quality
  • Loading gasket into press
  • Inserting splicing tape between gasket ends (if necessary)
  • Closing the mold; timer opens once cure time is up
  • Removing gasket and flashing
  • Inspecting gaskets for cracks, nibs, lumps, pinholes, and other defects
  • Injecting silicone into gaskets
  • Breaking splice seal using pneumatic anvil
  • Placing gaskets on silicone spreader and checking for leaks
  • Packing finished gaskets
  • Verifying proper gasket quantities in boxes
  • Documenting and recording all necessary information
  • Performing other duties as required by supervision to meet production needs
  • Maintaining quality and production requirements
  • Adhering to company policies and procedures

Knowledge & Skills:

To succeed in this role, you should have a high school diploma, basic English reading, writing, and speaking skills, and the ability to use or be trained on various measuring tools related to our gasket manufacturing process.

Contact:

You will interact daily with our Shift Supervisor, Lead Hand, and Q.A. Inspector. You may also occasionally communicate with our Production Manager, Operational Excellence Team, Health & Safety Manager, Plant Manager, and other departments as needed.

Working Conditions:

This role requires almost 100% of your time to be spent in our plant environment, involving varying degrees of light physical labor. You will need to lift, pull (
