About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Compensation and Benefits Specialist to join our HR team at IKO Industries Ltd. in Toronto, ON or Mississauga, ON office. In this role, you will develop and implement competitive compensation and benefits programs in Canada and the US to attract and retain top talent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement total rewards strategies for the organization, including compensation, benefits, and wellness elements.
  • Lead the job evaluation process, including maintaining job descriptions, establishing classifications, and maintaining the organization's job evaluation system.
  • Benchmark jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive pay for jobs.
  • Provide analytical support and recommendations to local client-facing HR and Talent Acquisition on compensation-related events.
  • Prepare and present job and total rewards analysis requested by the business.
  • Gather data from market-based surveys and assess market trends, prepare analysis of findings, and propose recommendations based on those findings.
  • Review compensation and benefit trends in Canada and the US to understand the markets, assess strategies, and propose recommended courses of action.
  • Collect data and perform cost analysis to be used for employee negotiations and collective bargaining, and act as a subject matter expert with the negotiations team.
  • Support the annual compensation cycles across North America.
  • Develop and document total rewards procedures to streamline processes and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Guide and train HR on total rewards processes and ensure adherence to the process.
  • Partner with HRIS to administer and maintain total rewards processes in Workday.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience working in a similar role dedicated to Total Rewards, including job evaluation, benefits design, and administration in a complex organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A relevant certification such as CEBS, CCP, CHRP, CHRL is highly preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of designing and managing compensation and benefits programs.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Excel, and HCM, preferably Workday.

Work Authorizations and Travel

  • Up to 5-10% travel may be required.
