Position Overview

The Compensation and Benefits Specialist will play a crucial role in investigating, assessing, and managing the organization’s compensation and benefits initiatives. This includes overseeing base salary structures, short-term incentive programs, conducting market research, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and optimizing existing programs. This position also serves as a resource for general inquiries related to the Human Resources Management System (HRMS) and contributes to the enhancement of reporting and analytics capabilities within the HRMS Business Intelligence tool. Reporting to the Total Rewards Manager, the Specialist will assist with various Total Rewards and HR projects as necessary.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Functional Responsibilities

  • Oversee compensation initiatives, including the administration of quarterly and annual incentive plans and the annual salary review process. Serve as an administrator for the merit and bonus processes.
  • Conduct research, complete market surveys, and perform job evaluations and compensation analyses.
  • Support the continuous improvement of compensation programs; analyze outcomes, interpret compensation data, and provide recommendations to ensure competitive positioning in the market.
  • Advise and educate HR colleagues on the organization’s Total Rewards policies and procedures.
  • Act as the primary contact for compensation and benefits inquiries from business partners, offering guidance and support as needed.
  • Participate in the review and revision of Total Rewards plans and policies to maintain accuracy and relevance. Manage Total Rewards content on internal platforms, collaborating with team members for updates.
  • Provide assistance and training for employee inquiries related to the HR Management System.
  • Support the management and administration of the HRMS.
  • Utilize the BI reporting tool to enhance reporting and analytics capabilities that deliver valuable business insights.
  • Collaborate with Total Rewards team members to manage the Total Rewards Inbox and escalate inquiries as necessary.
  • Engage in HR/Total Rewards-related project initiatives as required.
  • Perform additional duties as needed, including preparing ad hoc reports, dashboards, and presentations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Total Rewards.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • Experience in retail is advantageous.
  • Experience in administering Total Rewards programs, including Tier 1 support and HRMS experience.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong communication skills, including proficiency in written, verbal, and presentation formats.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to adhere to schedules and manage multiple processes effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Customer-oriented with the ability to manage competing priorities while achieving results.
  • Experience with People Management Software (Ultimate Software is a plus).
