Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Development Officer to join our Philanthropy and Partnerships department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for fundraising expertise to benefit our mission.
Your primary role will involve fostering and soliciting new and existing multi-year gifts. You will identify, build, and manage strong relationships with donors, prospects, and partners to maximize revenue generation. Your expertise will also be utilized to design, execute, and oversee sophisticated corporate gifts and community partnerships pipelines with targeted strategies to enhance engagement and philanthropic support.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive fundraising experience in the non-profit/charitable sector, with demonstrated success in securing major gifts (at $25,000+ level)
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive donor, prospect, and community relationships
- Strong relationship building skills, with the ability to successfully engage with internal and external partners
- Certificate in development, fundraising, or event planning an asset
- Experience with Raiser's Edge/NXT fundraising software an asset

Location and Requirements
This position operates Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, onsite at our head office in Hamilton, ON. A cleared status by HHS Employee Health Services and proof of full COVID vaccination are requirements of employment.
