We are seeking a dynamic Director of Development and Marketing to join our team at the AFP Golden Horseshoe Chapter. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for inspiring and impacting our community through innovative fundraising and marketing efforts.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to reimagine and lead our fundraising and marketing strategies, working closely with our Executive Director and team to deliver on strategic goals related to revenue growth, building our network of support, and increasing our brand profile.

You will oversee departmental operations, including the development and management of our annual departmental budget and operating plans. If you possess strong planning skills, financial acumen, and experience in team development and leadership, we encourage you to apply.

About Us

We are an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life in our community by offering access to tutoring programs for children, community kitchen programs, utility subsidy programs, family counselling, emergency food access, and other interventions.

We empower people with the tools and ideas that will help change their lives. Our team of passionate staff and volunteers have been collaborating to improve our community for 35 years, meeting issues of food insecurity and poverty head-on.

Our Organization

We started as a small food bank and have evolved into an indispensable part of our community's social fabric. We invite applications and nominations for the position of Director of Development and Marketing.

Your Key Responsibilities

You will enhance all aspects of our communications, including communications strategies, external relations, media, brand, and overall community profile. You will also build upon and manage all facets of our fundraising activities, including the development of fundraising strategies, stewardship plans, campaigns, events, data analysis, and reporting systems.

You will maintain your own portfolio of prospects and donors and advance the successful identification, cultivation, and solicitation of major gifts, planned giving, corporate and foundation donors and prospects, and government grants and funding proposals.

Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per year

Requirements and Qualifications

We are looking for a collaborative leader and team player who is excited by the opportunity to shape and drive our vision for fundraising and marketing efforts, ensuring the expansion of our contributions to the communities we serve.

You must possess depth of experience in fundraising and a well-rounded understanding of marketing. Proficiency in various revenue-generating methods and successful development and implementation of strategies for revenue and brand development are essential.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required, including the ability to effectively communicate our organization's mission and case for support to internal and external stakeholders. You must be able to work effectively with board and community members, committees, and volunteers, and foster a culture of philanthropy throughout our organization based on our values, mission, and strategic objectives.
