Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and bilingual Environmental Health Coordinator to join our team at BGIS. As a key member of our environmental health team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our clients and employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate environmental activities, including Legionella bacteria management, asbestos management, and indoor air quality monitoring.
  • Act as the first point-of-contact for environmental and health inquiries and incidents.
  • Provide guidance to team members on environmental and health matters, and escalate inquiries where necessary.
  • Coordinate the implementation of environmental, health, and safety programs, including related processes, procedures, and resources.
  • Assist with health and safety activities, including OHS committee meetings, incident investigation and resolution, and emergency response procedures.
  • Maintain and assist with the creation of environmental, health, and safety documentation, including plans, processes, forms, logbooks, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Strong background in environmental management system development and administration.
  • Certification in one or more of the following: Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety, Certificate in Environmental Management, or University degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or Environmental Studies.
  • 1-3 years of environmental, health, and safety work experience.
  • Bilingual in French and English, written and spoken.
  • Understanding of environmental, health, and safety regulatory requirements.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills, with ability to coordinate multiple requirements simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Strong administrative skills, with ability to maintain and report accurate data.
