Job Description:

This role involves providing nursing care to clients in the community, including those with complex and unpredictable health needs. The Registered Nurse will work under the general supervision of the Manager Health Services, demonstrating a commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the WRHA.

The successful candidate will have experience in delivering independent nursing services, administering prescribed treatments, leading the healthcare team, and facilitating coordination of client care and discharge. They will also be able to adapt quickly to changing situations, prioritize care for individuals or groups, delegate and assign care appropriately, and respond to a variety of simultaneous demands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to clients in the community
  • Administer prescribed treatments and medications
  • Lead the healthcare team and facilitate coordination of client care and discharge
  • Delegate and assign care appropriately and monitor outcomes
  • Respond to a variety of simultaneous demands and adapt quickly to changing situations

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree in Nursing from an approved education program
  • Registered Nurse (RN) designation and current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
  • Experience in community health nursing, preferably in a home care setting
  • Certification in wound care and chronic disease management is an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Basic life support certification (CPR)
