Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at Stack'd Kitchen. This is a permanent position offering 40 hours of work per week, with the possibility of overtime.

Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience.

The successful candidate will have 5 years or more of experience in the culinary industry, with a strong background in managing high-volume kitchens. They will be responsible for maintaining records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory, as well as analyzing operating costs and other data.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory
  • Analyze operating costs and other data to identify areas for improvement
  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to kitchen staff
  • Supervise activities of specialist chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers
  • Create new recipes and menus
  • Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food
  • Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets
  • Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff
  • Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies
  • Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
  • Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets, and specialty functions
  • Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities of several restaurants
  • Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
  • Recruit and hire staff
  • Supervise activities of sous-chefs, specialist chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food

Requirements:

  • 5 years or more of experience in the culinary industry
  • Cook Trade Certification
  • Certified Chef de Cuisine (CCC)
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Food Safety Certificate
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
