Role Overview

As a Tax Administrator at Scotiabank, you will play a critical role in preparing income tax returns, analyzing supporting documentation, and providing tax-related advice to clients. This position requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare income tax returns by gathering and analyzing relevant documentation, including income statements, transactions, and tax slips.
  • Discuss tax rules and elections with tax officers and managers, and assess client tax situations to provide recommendations.
  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Understand and adhere to the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations, ensuring thorough knowledge of and adherence to the Bank's Global Sales Practices and day-to-day business controls.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary education.
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of tax preparation programs and Microsoft applications (especially PowerPoint, Excel, and Word), Salesforce, and the Broadridge Trust System.
  • Detail-oriented and customer service-focused.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work well with minimal direction.
  • Strong writing skills and exceptional attention to detail.
