Role Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Primary Care Response Assistant to provide administrative support to our First Nations Virtual Doctor of the Day (FNv Do D) and First Nations Virtual Substance Use and Psychiatry Service (FNv SUPs) clinics. This role is responsible for scheduling providers, coordinating with virtual staff, and ensuring accurate billing submissions.

About the Job
  • This position provides relief in the event of absence of a Response Team member, ensuring continuity of care for clients.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in medical administration, billing, data management, and human resource management principles.
  • Familiarity with Medical Terminology, MSP Billing Practices, and Fee Codes is essential.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Schedule providers by region and coordinate with virtual staff to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  2. Consolidate and maximize billings to ensure accuracy prior to submission to MSP.
  3. Function as a member of a collaborative healthcare team, providing safe, ethical, and culturally appropriate care to clients and their families.
Requirements
  • Graduation from a Medical Office Assistant Certificate Program.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a medical practice with advanced knowledge in billing, data management, and human resources.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MSP Billing Practices, Medical Terminology, and applicable regulations.
  • Experience working with First Nations Health Service Organizations or communities is an asset.
