Business Development Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Business Development Manager at Douglas College. This is an exciting opportunity to lead our business development efforts and build strategic partnerships with industry and community partners.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and direction to our functional teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality career services, events, and employer engagement initiatives.
- Develop and implement strategies to cultivate external relationships with industry and community partners, aligning with our college's strategic plan.
- Oversee the department's functional teams, ensuring consistency of practice, tracking optimum service levels, and reporting performance benchmarks.
- Build consensus and foster teamwork among stakeholders in the business community, creating partnerships across the college that connect students with employers and opportunities.
- Lead events to provide students with market intelligence related to their target careers, business community connections, and opportunities for employment.
- Manage and prepare budgets for the department's functional teams, participating in business continuity planning and departmental safety training.
- Actively model the Douglas College Core Competencies and demonstrate diplomacy, discretion, and tact in all communications.
- Established professional credibility with a degree from an accredited post-secondary institution in a related area of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of 8 years' related experience, including experience in business development, job development, and career skills training.
- Minimum of 3 years' supervisory experience, ideally in a unionized environment.
- Strong knowledge of best practices in career education, job development strategies, and business analytics.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and complex tasks.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with a proven record of achieving job creation and business development goals.
