Position Type: Term/Full-Time, Term/Part-Time (6 – 12 hours per week)

The Knowles Centre is seeking a skilled Therapist to provide direct assessment and treatment services to students at a Winnipeg community school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to students with behavioral and mental health struggles
  • Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans in collaboration with school staff and other professionals
  • Work with children and adolescents to develop coping skills and strategies for managing trauma and stress
  • Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement trauma-informed practices
  • Provide supervision and support to school staff on trauma-informed practices
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community agencies and resources to support students and families

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in a relevant field (e.g. Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy)
  • 5 years of clinical experience working with youth, families, and direct service workers
  • Excellent assessment and counseling skills
  • Experience working with Indigenous clients and understanding of colonization, intergenerational trauma, and Indigenous practices
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle
  • Clear Criminal Record Check, Child and Adult Abuse Registry Checks, Prior Contact Check

The successful applicant will receive regular supervision and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to students and families.
