Job Title: FASD Support Counselor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist children and families impacted by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)
  • Offer education, resources, and techniques concerning FASD
  • Advocate for those affected by FASD and their families
  • Work collaboratively with broader systems to ensure service coordination
  • Apply counseling and clinical expertise for assessment and intervention
  • Facilitate presentations, workshops, and group discussions with caregivers
  • Keep accurate records and documentation

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW), Psychology (BA), or a related field
  • Proven experience working with children and families
  • Capacity to incorporate an Indigenous perspective or experience
  • Understanding of FASD, child development, and cognitive disabilities
  • Trauma-informed approach to service delivery
  • Circle of Security Parenting training is beneficial
  • Experience in community-based environments
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License and access to a dependable vehicle
  • Indigenous candidates are encouraged to apply
