Willow Place Inc. is seeking a skilled Trauma Counselor to join our team on a full-time, term basis. As a Trauma Counselor, you will play a vital role in providing enhanced services to individuals experiencing family abuse/violence.
Key Responsibilities:Therapeutic Services:
- Assess and develop individualized therapeutic plans, establishing a strength-based therapeutic relationship with clients.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of therapeutic services, collaborating with clients and referring them to appropriate resources as needed.
- Plan and conduct therapeutic groups for residential and outreach clients.
Case Management/Programming:
- Ensure clients are included in their case plan, with measurable goals and outcomes.
- Review and revise program components to enhance client service.
Advocacy and Liaison with Community Collaterals:
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with community agencies and services to enhance client support.
Administration:
- Provide accurate documentation and statistics for client contacts, adhering to agency policies.
Team Responsibilities/Staff Development:
- Support and adhere to Willow Place's values, vision, and mission statement.
Organizational Responsibilities:
- Maintain agency confidentiality and protect operations.
- Represent Willow Place in a professional manner.
Requirements:
- Minimum undergraduate degree in mental health nursing, counseling, psychology, or social work.
- Certification in mental health and/or addiction is an asset.
- Minimum one year of supervised clinical counseling experience.
- Demonstrated experience working from a Trauma Informed/Harm Reduction lens is essential.
- Cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity are required to work effectively with diverse clients.
Location: Winnipeg, MB
Pay: From $24.43 an hour
Job Type: Full-time, Temporary
Shift and Schedule: 8 hour shift, Evening shift, Day shift, Monday to Friday
