We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Officer, Finance Payroll to join our team at the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing support and audit function of payroll internal controls and processes, developing and analyzing data and reports, and ensuring payroll is processed in compliance with statutory regulations and collective agreement requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide support and audit function of payroll internal controls and processes
- Develop and analyze data and reports to ensure payroll compliance
- Ensure payroll is processed in compliance with statutory regulations and collective agreement requirements
- Assist in providing training and support to payroll staff, Board staff, and school staff
- Support project management for system updates, patches, and enhancements
- Completion of post-secondary education in Business Administration, Accounting or Commerce
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) Certification
- Minimum of four years of progressive work experience in payroll and HRIS
- Demonstrated skills and proficient usage of MS Office (in particular Excel, One Note, Planner and Word)
- Ability to compile and analyze payroll data for processing and reporting
- Demonstrated organizational, mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of Payroll Legislation pertaining to Canada Revenue Agency and The Employment Standards Act
- Experience with Pension Plan administration would be an asset
- Ability to analyze, interpret and execute complex provisions inherent to numerous contractual and Labor agreements
