We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director to lead our Nicotine and Cannabis category across multiple banners and regulatory environments. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive strategy to drive business growth, improve competitiveness, and enhance customer experience.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a category strategy that aligns with our business objectives and drives revenue growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with category vendors, external partners, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and optimal business outcomes.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to drive merchandising, operations, promotions, supply chain, loyalty, e-commerce, marketing, and media initiatives that support category goals.
- Own the financial forecasting, modeling, and performance for the category, with a focus on profit and loss (P&L) outcomes, sales, margins, shrink, and EBIT at a divisional level.
- Deliver category/division budget goals and achieve non-financial departmental goals as assigned, with regular reporting obligations.
- Stay up-to-date with market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes to inform category decisions and drive business success.
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience, with a strong background in retail merchandising, strategy, marketing, business development, and/or business management.
- Proven experience in category management, with a focus on P&L ownership and financial analysis.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, collaborate, and influence cross-functional teams.
- A customer-centric approach, with a focus on delivering business outcomes that meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Ability to think critically, innovate, and overcome obstacles in a fast-paced environment.
