Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Development Officer to lead our fund development strategy and build meaningful relationships with stakeholders. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of critical funder/stakeholder relationships and coordinating impactful content creation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fund development strategy that aligns with our strategic priorities
  • Manage the full life cycle of funding applications and proposals from research to submission
  • Identify grant and funding opportunities that match our objectives and write compelling proposals
  • Liaise with finance to ensure grant/proposal budgets meet required standards
  • Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information for proposals
  • Ensure timely submission of grant applications/funding proposals and compliance with all criteria
  • Communicate with internal teams and external stakeholders about funding opportunities and project progress
  • Establish and maintain relationships with current and potential collaborating organizations, funders, and clients through meetings, networking, and events

Requirements

  • University degree or college diploma in a related field (Non-Profit Management, Public Administration, Communications, Business, or other relevant area)
  • At least 5-8 years of experience in grant writing, proposal development, grant management, and business development
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit financial management and budgeting
  • Familiarity with women-centered grants and funding opportunities is preferred
  • Exceptional communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to establish connections and build long-term relationships with businesses, industry associations, government, education institutions, indigenous groups, and community organizations
  • Ability to work collaboratively using virtual tools
  • High regard for confidentiality, quality, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively in a team environment

  • A competitive salary range of $70,000 - $80,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and skills
