Job Description

Destination Canada is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager, Business Events to join our team in Vancouver. As a key member of our Business Events team, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and project managing the business unit's deliverables, ensuring the necessary inputs and connections are made within the team and with other Destination Canada teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage special projects within the business events team from initiation to completion
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope
  • Supervise internal, external and global teams to achieve project objectives
  • Support the Senior Director, Strategic Initiatives in the integration of unit processes and execution of strategic initiatives and plans
  • Manage and execute the unit's Strategic Partnerships, which include developing agreements, liaising with the Partner's management team, and executing on deliverables
Requirements
  • Graduation from a recognized university with a degree in business, project management or another specialty relevant to the position, or another combination of education, training and experience acceptable to DC
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a project management role
  • Experience in managing complex projects from end to end
  • Experience in planning, forecasting, and strategy execution
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with remote teams is an asset
  • Experience working as an event planner is an asset
  • Experience in managing a budget is a strong asset
  • Experience running competitive request for proposal processes is an asset
