Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Shoppers Drug Mart / Pharmaprix. As an Assistant Store Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Front Store Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring excellent customer service, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operations:
    • Ensure store standards are maintained to optimize customer experience and drive sales growth
    • Work with the management team to ensure store standards are in effect 100% of the time, including the backroom
    • Manage labour scheduling and leverage Work Force Management (WFM) to maximize labour productivity
    • Ensure staffing levels are adequate to effectively operate the business
  • Human Resources:
    • Comply with human resources standards
    • Support hiring and recruitment efforts for all departments, excluding pharmacy
    • Maintain wage administration within company guidelines
    • Drive a positive and inclusive store culture, leading by example and promoting our core values
  • Qualifications:
    • Planning, judgement, and decision-making skills
    • Inventory management planning and preparation
    • Ability to control expenses and manage budgets
    • Effective leadership and mentorship skills
    • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
    • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Experience:
    • Previous retail management experience
    • Demonstrated ability to drive business growth and lead by example
    • Strong interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills
    • Business and financial acumen
    • Relationship building with key internal and external stakeholders
