Job Summary

This is a part-time permanent position at Michael Garron Hospital, a division of Toronto East Health Network. The successful candidate will provide clinical social work services to hospital patients, families, and staff within an interdisciplinary team setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive assessment and treatment planning for patients and families
  • Offer educational and supportive counseling to patients and families
  • Identify and link patients and families with community resources
  • Collaborate and consult with inter-professional teams and community-based service providers
  • Participate in education and training programs for healthcare professionals, students, and community agencies
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of social work services and programs

Requirements

  • Member of the Ontario College of Social Workers & Social Service Workers or a candidate for certification
  • Master of Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work or equivalent degree
  • Recent related experience in Maternal Newborn and Pediatric environments an asset
  • Knowledge of CAS and community resources
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with social work staff and other healthcare professionals
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Family-centered philosophy of care provision
  • Ability to welcome change and manage it innovatively
  • Good work and attendance record
