Pediatric Occupational Therapist Job Summary


We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our team at the Stollery Children's Hospital. As a Pediatric Occupational Therapist, you will work with children and their families in a dynamic acute care in-patient setting, providing evidence-informed services to meet their needs.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Screen and/or comprehensively assess pediatric clients
  • Develop customized goals, treatment plans for therapeutic intervention, and organize appropriate discharge plans
  • Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with all members of the healthcare team
  • Effectively communicate with other healthcare professionals
  • Participate in quality initiatives and program development
  • Clinical leadership, education and/or mentorship of professional/support staff and students

Requirements:



  • Completion of bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program
  • Registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT)
  • A minimum of one year of experience and expertise in the management of pediatric patients
  • Ability to easily adapt and be flexible in a hectic work environment
  • Prioritize caseloads and work well both independently and within a multidisciplinary team

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in an acute care setting
  • Knowledge of community health care
  • Experience with using pediatric standardized assessment tools
