About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at the University of Alberta Hospital. As a key member of our rehabilitation and allied health program, you will provide evidence-informed services to patients with a focus on occupational performance.

Job Description

The successful candidate will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare teams to enable meaningful and chosen occupations. This includes self-care, productivity, and leisure activities. The role involves providing comprehensive services, including triage, screening, consultation, assessment, diagnosis, collaborative goal setting, treatment, prevention, self-management, education, case management, referral, transition support, and collaboration with relevant stakeholders and supports within the client's physical, institutional, cultural, and social environments.

Skill and Qualifications
  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program
  • Registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) certification
  • Recent experience in acute care in the areas of cardiac and neurosciences, stroke, brain injury
  • Experience in ADL, cognitive assessments, edema, and functional assessment and interventions as well as falls and pressure injury prevention

Compensation Package

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
