About the Role

The Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment, providing high-quality care to pediatric patients at the Stollery Children's Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will assess patients, develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans, and monitor progress.

You will be responsible for various diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and interventions, collaborating with clinical teams to enhance clinical outcomes. Additionally, you will provide training and assist healthcare providers in the use and care of respiratory equipment, as well as educate patients and their families regarding diseases, medications, equipment, and treatments.

This role requires active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA) and a graduate degree from a recognized School of Respiratory Therapy. You must also be eligible to write or have passed the CBRC National Respiratory Certification Exam and possess current Basic Cardiac Life Support-Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.

Requirements
  • Active or eligible registration with CARTA
  • Graduate degree from a recognized School of Respiratory Therapy
  • Eligible to write or have passed the CBRC National Respiratory Certification Exam
  • Current BCLS-HCP certification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and clinical documentation skills
