Job Description
We are currently seeking a dynamic Healthcare Security Operations Centre Dispatcher to join our team. As a key member of our operations centre, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of our security personnel, responding to emergency situations, and maintaining the integrity of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor multiple systems, including fire and life safety, access control, and CCTV
- Dispatch security guards to incidents, requests for assistance, emergencies, etc.
- Maintain control of access to and from the property and affiliated hospitals
- Log details of radio transmission, telephone calls, and verbal instructions
- Direct backup support as necessary
- Inform management of major incidents
- Maintain the Camera Surveillance System
- Answer all incoming security telephone lines, including the complex emergency telephone line
- Ensure that security operations occur consistent with policy and procedures
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A high degree of professionalism
- Previous security experience (considered an asset)
- Experience in healthcare (considered an asset)
- Strong command and fluency in the English language, both written and verbal
- The ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- The ability to handle stress and pressure and make sound decisions under duress
- High attention to detail/observational awareness
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, with the ability to work productively and efficiently in a team
- First Aid and CPR Level C + AED certification
- Clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (minimum double vaccination)
- Immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], Varicella, and TB Skin Tests - Step 1 & 2)
- Able to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check during onboarding
- English proficiency (oral & written) required
- Bilingualism (English/French) considered an asset
- 6+ months of customer service experience considered an asset
