Job Title: Healthcare Security Officer

Job Summary:

As a Healthcare Security Officer with Paladin Security, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of clients, buildings, and assets in a healthcare environment. This role requires a smart, visible, and alert security presence, as well as the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

* Present a professional security presence and greet, assist, and direct members of the public visiting the premises
* Ensure the safety and security of clients, buildings, and assets
* Carry out all security duties as specified, including proactive and reactive interior and exterior patrols, response and assistance in emergency situations, and documenting and reporting of any security events
* Investigate routine incidents and provide patient watches
* Enforce hospital policies and procedures, including parking and smoking by-laws

Minimum Requirements:

* Valid Ontario Security Guard License
* Valid First Aid and CPR - Level C Certificate
* Ability to be clean-shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test
* Proof of COVID-19 vaccination
* Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check
* Minimum 6 months of healthcare security experience preferred
* English proficiency (oral and written) is required
* Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset

Preferred Qualifications:

* Knowledge of the Criminal Code and Occupational Health and Safety Act
* Practical knowledge of the Private Security and Investigative Services Act and regulations
* General knowledge of the Ontario Fire Code and how it applies to a healthcare environment
* Knowledge of security principles, concepts, and methodologies in a healthcare setting
* IAHSS - Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) - Basic certification
