GFL Environmental is seeking a highly skilled Operations Manager, Production Facilities to join our production team. This role will oversee the day-to-day operations of our facilities, ensuring that productivity and quality are maintained at the highest level.

As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing shift workers, safety oversight, and disciplinary action; housekeeping; operational control policies; productivity, quality of work, and utilization audits; environmental compliance monitoring; adhering to Collective Agreement terms.

Broad range of operational activities such as handling and shipping of raw materials and products, operating equipment in production, contributing to a clean, safe, effective, and efficient production process. Forklift operation when required.

You will periodically inspect and complete maintenance tasks on production equipment, signaling defects and deficiencies. Conduct minor repair work and/or assist Maintenance staff with larger maintenance and repair tasks as needed.

Logs data and information on production activities in logbooks/systems. Signals deviations in current processes, techniques, or systems and flags opportunities for improvement with supervisor.

May participate in improvement projects. Works in compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and quality regulations and procedures, as well as operational standards.

Promotes awareness on SHEQ, signals potential hazardous and/or unsafe situations, takes appropriate action in case of imminent unsafe situations.

Ensures the work area is clean and in a safe working condition and that there are no hazardous situations. Maintains the appearance of the production line, working area, and production site.

This role requires a Grade 12 diploma, post-secondary education beneficial in a technical field. Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental training. Supervisory experience in a busy manufacturing environment. Supervisory Course or equivalent course or proven work experience.

A competitive salary of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, is offered.
